Lodgify guide

SEO for a Lodgify website

Why template sites plateau in search, and the structure that fixes it.

01

The plateau is predictable

Lodgify sites tend to rank for the business name, sometimes a property name, and very little else. Operators reasonably conclude that SEO does not work in this sector.

What has actually happened is structural. The builder has no home for the pages that earn traffic — location content, guides, question-led writing — so there is nothing for search to rank beyond the property grid.

02

What to build instead

Distinct property pages with real local context and correct structured data, location pages for the areas your properties sit in, and guides answering the questions guests ask before they book.

Question-format content deserves particular attention. Full-sentence queries are increasingly common, and a page structured as a clear question with a direct answer underneath performs disproportionately well in both classic results and AI summaries.

  • One distinct page per property, not a template with the name changed
  • Location pages written from genuine local knowledge
  • Guides: walks from the door, wet-weather days, dog-friendly beaches, parking
  • Structured data for properties, FAQs and breadcrumbs
03

The technical floor

Core Web Vitals matter disproportionately here. 61% of accommodation bookings happen on mobile2, and a tenth of a second of mobile speed is worth around 10% on travel booking rates5.

Template builders carry weight they cannot shed. That is a ranking problem and a conversion problem at the same time, which is why speed is a design constraint rather than an optimisation afterthought.

Questions people actually ask

Straight answers.

Can I do SEO on the Lodgify builder?

The basics only. Titles and descriptions, yes; a content architecture that ranks, no.

The ceiling is structural, and no amount of on-page tweaking moves it.

Should I blog?

Only if you have something specific to say. Two excellent location pages beat twenty filler posts.

Frequency is not a ranking factor. Being the best answer to a specific question is.

How long until it works?

Three to six months for long-tail and question terms; six to twelve for competitive location terms.

The technical baseline ships with the build. The content compounds afterwards.
