Service
SEO for holiday lets.
Your best rankings currently belong to the agencies and the OTAs. Getting some of them back is slow, unglamorous and by far the highest-return marketing any operator can do.
Why it matters
You are renting an audience you could own.
Sixty-one per cent of travellers use a search engine during the research window, and four in five visit an OTA at some point before purchasing6. The OTAs rank for the terms your guests search because they publish relentlessly and you publish nothing.
The good news is that the competition at property and location level is far weaker than it looks. Most self-catering sites have no content beyond the properties themselves, no structured data, and property pages that Google cannot tell apart. That is a structural problem with a structural fix.
Detail
What the work involves.
What actually moves the needle
In the order we do it.
- Property page structure: one page per property, distinct content, proper schema, real location context
- Location and area pages that answer what guests search, not what you want to say
- Technical foundations: Core Web Vitals, crawlability, internal linking, no index bloat
- Question-led content — full-sentence queries are increasingly how people search, and they are winnable
- Digital PR and genuine local relationships, rather than link buying
What we do not do
Some of this industry deserves its reputation.
- No programmatic page generation. We have seen a 1,105-page combinatorial build return twenty clicks in three months
- No keyword-stuffed location pages about towns you have never visited
- No link schemes, PBNs or guest-post networks
- No reporting on impressions and rankings while enquiries stay flat
How long it takes
Honestly: longer than anyone would like.
- Months 0–3: foundations, structure, migration safety. Little visible movement
- Months 3–6: long-tail and question queries begin ranking; first meaningful enquiries
- Months 6–12: location and property terms consolidate; compounding starts
- If someone promises page one in ninety days for competitive terms, they are guessing
Questions people actually ask
Straight answers.
Can I do SEO on my channel manager's website builder?
A little, and not much. Most native builders give you a title tag, a meta description and nowhere to put content.
The limitation is rarely the on-page settings — it is that there is no structural home for the location pages and guides that actually earn traffic.
Is it worth doing SEO for a single property?
Yes, and it is often easier than for a portfolio. A single cottage competing for a handful of specific long-tail terms is a very winnable fight.
‘Dog friendly cottage with hot tub near [village]’ has low volume and almost no serious competition. Ten of those are worth more than one impossible head term.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No, and nobody credible does. We will tell you what we think is winnable, in what timeframe, and report honestly against it.
What we will commit to is the work itself, and to showing you the data whether it is flattering or not.
