Beds24 website design for operators who want the front end to be theirs.
Beds24 is the most developer-friendly platform in the market and makes almost no attempt to own your website. For anyone who wants a genuinely custom site, that is not a gap — it is the whole appeal.
The situation
A platform that expects you to bring your own front end.
Beds24 publishes a fully customisable embedded booking page, booking widgets and availability calendars you can style with your own CSS, a WordPress plugin, and an API for building web, desktop and mobile applications against a client's account13.
Very few platforms are this open, and it changes what is possible. There is no template to fight, no native builder pulling you back towards a house style, and no ambiguity about whether a custom build is supported. It is the reason Beds24 sites are so often either excellent or dreadful, with very little in between.
Integration routes: embedded booking page, widgets, WordPress plugin and full API.
Source 13CSS control over the widgets and booking page — Beds24 explicitly supports applying your own styles.
Source 13Channel commission on a booking through your own Beds24-integrated site.
Integration
How we connect to Beds24.
Embedded booking page
Styled to match
A fully customisable booking page embedded into a site we design, with your own CSS applied13. Robust and quick.
Widgets and calendars
Dropped into our pages
Booking widgets and availability calendars placed exactly where they belong in a page we control, rather than dictating the layout around them13.
Beds24 API
Fully bespoke
The API supports building applications that integrate directly with a Beds24 account13. Custom search, filtering, static rendering and an on-domain checkout.
Questions people actually ask
Straight answers about Beds24 and direct bookings.
Can I build a completely custom website on Beds24?
Yes, and more comfortably than on almost any other platform. Beds24 documents an API for building applications that interact directly with an account, alongside embeddable pages and widgets that accept your own CSS13.
This is the platform we recommend to operators who know they want something bespoke and do not want to spend the project arguing with a template.
Does Beds24 work with WordPress?
There is an official plugin13, and it works. We would still usually build static instead, because a booking site's job is to load instantly on a phone and WordPress makes that harder than it needs to be.
If you are committed to WordPress for editorial reasons, the plugin is a perfectly reasonable route and we will build it that way.
Is Beds24 too technical for a small operator?
The back office has a reputation for being dense, and it is deserved. But that is an operations question, not a website one — the guest never sees it.
From a website perspective the technical depth is entirely an advantage. It means we can build what the brief actually needs rather than what the platform allows.
Does Beds24 charge commission on direct bookings?
No channel commission — you pay Beds24's subscription and your payment processing, and nothing per booking to a third party.
Set against 14–16% to Airbnb or around 15% to Booking.com3, that is the entire argument for the direct channel in one line.
We are not Beds24, and we are not trying to replace it.
Beds24 is booking and channel management software. We are not an alternative to it, and if anything we recommend it more often than most — its openness is exactly what a custom build needs. We design and build the site that sits in front of it.
